Brenda began working at Vancouver Island University in 2004 in Food Services, Catering, and the Discovery Room. Four years later, Brenda worked for the Centre for Continuing Studies at the Nanaimo and Parksville campuses and completed her Microsoft Office Skills program Certificate in 2010. In 2011 Brenda left VIU for a year to work at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey BC, in the Office of New Student programs. She Returned to VIU in 2012 to work in the Cashier’s Office. One year later, Brenda started working for Academic and Career Preparation. She continues to build great working relationships across the campuses. Many years in the hospitality industry prior to her employment at VIU helped develop her high value for service, which she utilizes in her position of Secretary, Faculty of Academic and Career Preparation. Academic and Career Preparation has given Brenda the opportunity to make a positive contribution towards others in support of helping them achieve their goals. She loves to see people succeed in their lives and is happy to help in any way she can.
